About

Faithworks is an organization from the Canadian Reformed Churches that provides development assistance by sending out teams of volunteers called Service and Learning Together  teams (SALT teams). Faithworks operates as sub-committee of Canadian Reformed World Relief Fund (CRWRF).

Mission Statement

“But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works…’” James 2:18

This mission of Faithworks is based on the biblical premise that God asks us to show love to everyone around us. As we serve others through our work, we also hope to that our team members will learn about poverty and further ways to serve. Thus we seek to serve others but also to further our own understanding of our role in God’s kingdom.

The goal of a short term Faithworks trip is two-fold. First, we seek to SERVE – to show Christian assistance, generosity, mercy, and kindness towards the poor out of thankfulness for the great salvation we have been granted in Jesus Christ. Secondly, we seek to LEARN – to learn about poverty, service and our role in the Lord’s kingdom.

Every volunteer going on a Faithworks trip needs to have made a strong and active commitment to God. All funds for the trips are raised personally by each participant and are utilized for the trip itself.
